The Meknes and Volubilis excursion from Fez combines three must-see places in northern Morocco in a single day: the imperial city of Meknes, with the monumental Bab Mansour gate; the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a World Heritage Site with its original mosaics; and Moulay Idriss, the white holy town on two hills. Meknes, Volubilis and Moulay Idriss in one day

We pick you up in the morning at your accommodation in Fez and head to Meknes, about 60 km away. There you will explore the imperial city of Moulay Ismail: the impressive Bab Mansour gate, El Hedim square, the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, the royal granaries and the Sahrij Souani pool. Then we will continue to Volubilis, one of the most important cities of Roman Mauretania. You will walk among the triumphal arch, the basilica, the capitol and the houses with their original mosaics, amid olive groves and wheat fields. Very close by is Moulay Idriss, a holy town and place of pilgrimage, where we will stop to admire its white silhouette and have lunch. In the afternoon, return to Fez.
