The Chefchaouen excursion from Fez takes you to the famous blue city, hidden in the Rif Mountains. It is a long day, with about four hours on the road each way, but it is worth it: you will stroll through the blue alleys of its medina, Outa el Hammam square and the Ras el Maa spring, and have free time to eat, take photos and buy crafts before returning to Fez.

Day trip to Chefchaouen

Early departure from your riad or hotel in Fez towards the north. We will cross fields of cereals and olive trees and climb into the Rif Mountains, with a stop to rest and enjoy the scenery. We will reach Chefchaouen in the middle of the morning and you will start exploring its medina: stairways, doors and facades painted in every shade of blue, small weaving workshops and craft shops. You will visit Outa el Hammam square, with the kasbah and the great mosque, and the Ras el Maa spring, where women still wash clothes in the river. You will have free time to eat at one of the restaurants in the medina and, if you like, walk up to the Spanish Mosque to see the town from above. In the afternoon, return to Fez, arriving at your accommodation in the evening.
