Description

The Imlil excursion from Marrakech takes you in an hour and a half to the heart of the High Atlas, at the foot of Toubkal, the highest mountain in North Africa. You will walk with a local mountain guide among walnut trees, terraced fields and adobe Berber villages, have tea in a traditional house and eat with views of the peaks. A perfect excursion to breathe fresh air and discover mountain life.

Excursion to Imlil and the High Atlas villages

We pick you up at your accommodation in Marrakech in the morning and head for the High Atlas. We pass through Tahanaout and the Asni valley, where a very authentic Berber souk is held on Mondays, and climb a mountain road with spectacular views to Imlil, at 1,740 meters. There a local mountain guide will take you on an easy walk of about two or three hours among walnut and cherry trees and terraced orchards to the village of Aroumd, with Toubkal in the background. Along the way you will visit a Berber house, where you will be offered mint tea and learn how mountain families live. Lunch at a guesthouse with a terrace overlooking the valley (optional) and, in the afternoon, return to Marrakech.
